How to remove skunk smell
How do I remove skunk odor from my dog?
There is no mistaking the fragrance of a skunk. It is pretty recognizable. You want to bathe your dog as quickly as possible because not only to prevent it getting on your furniture and clothes, but the spray can actually burn his skin and may cause temporary blindness if it gets into the eyes. I recommend flushing out the eyes with a turkey baster first if he was sprayed in the face or near it.
Make sure you wear eye protection during the process to avoid the mixture burning your eyes when the dog shakes. After mixing the ingredients, rub them into the dog right away. Rub the mixture all over the dog’s fur. Avoid getting it into the dog’s eyes. Skunk spray is actually oily; the dish soap will help break the oils down. Let is sit for at least 5 minutes to fully work its magic on the poor victim. Once rinsed if the odor still remains you may repeat.
